Lithia Springs Unique Waters From deep beneath the lawns and gardens of the Inn at Lithia Springs, bubbles pure, naturally hot, mineral water with unique qualities found nowhere else in the world. Lithia Spring's Water is a naturally, soft silky water with a just the faint smell of sulfur gas. Since then, I have seen case after case of sore muscles, psoriasis and poison oak respond to this magic water. Over time, I wanted some explanation for these phenomena that would satisfy my rational mind. Here's what I found. Some liquids have a high density of what are called "positive ions". For example salt water has a lot of positive ions. If you have ever soaked you hands in salt water for an extended period of time, your fingers were left soft and wrinkled. The ions in the salt water have a natural need to "bond" with other molecules to become stable, and in order to do this, the ions actually "draw" water molecules through your skin into the surrounding ionized water. While the water at Lithia Springs Resort isn't salty, it is highly alkaline in nature, which also gives it a high level of positive ions. Hence, soaking in this naturally soft water, causes molecules of water to be drawn through your skin, taking any irritants such as poison oak oils or lactic acid that cause sore muscles and flushes it out.
