Questions you should ask
before you rent a room in Ashland

In larger towns with a large variety of Hotels and Inns to pick from, you can be safe in eventually finding the right room that meets you needs. In smaller towns such as Ashland, it's important to ask a few questions to assure a worry free and enjoyable stay.

How larger are your rooms? Some of the older lodging have rooms that date back to the turn of the century. These rooms are unique and nastalgic, but can lack the room you may be used to.

Do you have a bathroom in the room? Sounds like a funny question but often you will find rooms with a community bathroom just down the hall.

Do you have closet space for my clothes and bags? Some rooms, especially the older converted hotels have but a small wardrobe area and seldom is there room for additional dressers.

Do you have close parking? It's not a real comfortable stay when you need to take what seems like a hiking trip to get to your room. You should ask about lighting at night and what type of security is available.

Do you have breakfast available in the morning? Some like the continenal type breakfast with coffee and a pastry or two. To really start your day off, it would be nice to find a place that has a good breakfast cooked on site fresh.

Do you have easy acces to biking and hiking trails? It's nice when you can walk out of your room, leave you car in the parking lot and take a hike or bike ride around the area.

What type of scenery do you see outside your window? Even the fancy of Hotel rooms can be spoiled by looking at an old airconditioning unit instead of flowers, trees and beautiful gardens.

What kind of water is used? Heavily treated water can turn and shower or bath into an uncomfotable experience. Look for natural hot spring water which can comfort and soothe.
